QUESTIONS ABOUT GROOMING DOGS:

DO DOGS REALLY NEED TO BE GROOMED?

Yes, absolutely! Regular, consistent grooming is critical to their health and comfort. Dogs have evolved over time to live with people and they require our help in order to maintain their health. Without proper grooming they will suffer ill-health and discomfort.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DOG BE GROOMED?

Generally, about every four (4) to Six (6) weeks. But it also depends on the breed, their lifestyle & environment (indoor/outdoor), activities, and how often they are brushed at home. We will work with you and your dog to develop a grooming plan that meets their needs.

DOES FREQUENT BATHING HARM MY DOG'S COAT?

No, veterinarians will encourage you to have your dog groomed on a regular basis. We use high quality shampoos and conditioners to help relieve dry, itchy skin. 

 

MY DOG SHEDS A LOT, WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

Yes, we de-shed your dog's coat during and after bathing to reduce shedding.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MOBILE GROOMING:

WHY MOBILE GROOMING?

Mobile grooming is a convenient service for pet parents, but for some pets it's a necessity. It eliminates the stress of separation from the home and family, there's no sitting cages, no rides in the car, and they get the one-one-one attention that they deserve. And gone is the risk of catching disease or parasites from strange dogs at a shop store.

DO I HAVE TO BE HOME FOR THE GROOMING?

No, we can make arrangements to groom your dog(s) while you're away; however, everyone should get to know each other first, so we recommend that you be there for the first couple appointments. 

​

CAN YOU COME TO MY OFFICE INSTEAD?

Yes, we can come to your office or other location; however, the location should be reasonably close to our service area and your appointment day may change according to our smart routing/scheduling system.

 

WHY DOES MOBILE GROOMING COST MORE THAN A SHOP?

Mobile grooming does cost more but the benefits outweigh the extra expense. It's a premium service that is both convenient for you, and full of extra care and one-on-one treatment for your dog. 

QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR MOBILE SALON:

DO YOU NEED TO PLUG INTO MY ELECTRICITY OR WATER?

No, our state of the art mobile grooming van is a completely self contained unit specifically designed for pet grooming. There's a generator for power, it's climate controlled and has everything imaginable for pet grooming and comfort. 

​

DO YOU REUSE YOUR WATER?

Definitely not. There's a hundred (100) gallons of fresh water onboard for a full days' grooming, and all the used "gray water" is stored in a separate tank and properly disposed of at a facility each night.

IS THE VAN REALLY A SAFE PLACE FOR MY PET?

Yes, absolutely. Our brand new, state of the art mobile pet salon is designed specifically for pet grooming by industry leader "Wag'n Tails". It comes equipped with everything we need to groom your dog and provide for his safety and comfort. It's climate controlled and even has TV and stereo for some Doggie TV or soothing sounds to help relax your pup and put him at ease.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRODUCTS WE USE:

WHAT TYPE OF PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

We only use premium shampoos and connditioners that are designed speficially for pets. Some of the products we use are Flea and Tick, Relaxing Lavender, Tearless Blueberry Facial, Coconut Oatmeal, medicated, Griminator, and Hypo"Aloe"Genic to name a few. Feel free to discuss options with your groomer.

CAN I PROVIDE MY OWN SHAMPOO OR OTHER PRODUCTS?

Absolutely. However, we can only use products that are labeled and designed specifically for your pet's type and situation, and in accordance with the label's instructions only. The same applies for any medicated products prescribed or provided to you by a veteranian.

MY PET HAS ALLERGIES, WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR THEM?

This is a very common concern but rest assured that we are prepared for these special cases. We have options for your pets with allergies, alternatives for each type of application from Flea and Tick to premium shampoo and conditioner, such as Hypo"Aloe"Genic. Feel free to discuss your options with your groomer. It's also helpful to let us know about any special needs your pet may have when you book an appointment. 

 

WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR PETS WITH FLEAS?

We recommend a two-step process for pets with fleas. First, a bath with enviro-friendly flea based shampoo, which will eradicate the fleas that are present, and help to smooth skin irritation caused by flea bites. Second, a monthly flea prevention treatment, such as NextGuard, Advantix, Confortis, Frontline, etc.. There are many good products available. We recommend that you speak to your veterinarian for a advice.

QUESTIONS ABOUT SENSITIVE PETS:

MY DOG IS SCARED OF WATER AND HATES BEING GROOMED

We can help. As groomers, we're familiar with handling reluctant dogs that don't want to be bathed or groomed. We use a lot of pampering, TLC and the occasional doggie treat. The priority must always be a positive grooming experience, and with that, in time, they will learn not to fear grooming.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE DOGS THAT ARE VERY SENSITIVE?

As a wellness-focussed groomer, our top priority is the comfort and well-being of the dogs in our care. We've developed our "Comfort Grooming System" in which we assess the needs of your dog and establish a "Comfort Grooming Plan" just for them. It includes both what they need for grooming, and what will make them most comfortable during the process. We make use of all your dog's senses, including ambient sounds or their favorite relaxing music, lighting colors and TV for dogs, reassuring scents, and tasty treats (calming CBD options available).

WHAT ABOUT DOGS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

Our "Comfort Grooming System" is designed for all dogs, and specifically addresses each dog's particular needs, including those with special needs. This may include a physical disability or injury, sensitivity, or emotional considerations. All dogs need regular, consistent grooming to stay healthy and comfortable, and it's our responsibility to do whatever we can to get them groomed safely and comfortably.
